Profits That Arent Right!

Everytime something happens around the middle east, or there is a big storm that strikes a major oil refining or exporting place in the world everyone always frets about rising gas prices. Now politicians are once again talking about the high gas prices, and punishing those evil corporations for making a profit. All the fuss made by the government over gas prices is pretty ridiculous when you consider that the government makes more money per gallon of gas sold than the oil companies do.

In 2004 major oil companies in the United States made 42.6 billion dollars in profit, now sure it sounds like a boat load of money, and it sure as hell would make them look as if they were involved in price gouging since the price of gas is so high... At least it seems that way until you look at how much the government made off the oil companies in 2004, if your curious the number is 58.4 billion dollars in tax revenue off the companies.

Hmmmm, maybe the government should ensure lower gas prices by first giving up their stake in the oil industry by lowering the taxes on the oil companies. Maybe if companies like Shell wouldn't have to set the price so high to make a profit if they weren't being forced to pay an 18 cent per gallon federal gasoline tax, and a state gasoline tax that in some states is as high as 32 cents per gallon sold. Maybe if they weren't forced to pay so much in taxes they would be able to charge less to still turn a profit.

If you tax it you get less, if you subsidize it you get more, the less government taxation there is in the free market, the lower the prices will be.

Double Standard On Terrorism

Hezbullah launches rockets into Israel directly targeting civilians, Hamas or other "palestinian" groups kidnap Israeli soldiers and demand more concessions in response. Israel responds with air strikes and troop movements to look for their kidnapped, and to protect their civilians.

In last summers war with Hezbullah the Israeli Defense Forces went into southern Lebanon, and tanks went into the Gaza strip looking for a kidnapped soldier, and trying to put a stop to Hezbullahs attacks on Israeli civilians. In that war as with any conflict involving Israel those on the left began to scream cycle of violence cycle of violence. But when a terror group robs a bank and fires at Lebanese armed forces, and Lebanon decides to go into a Palestinian camp known as Nahr Al Bared then its looked at with open arms, and is not confronted with near the amount negativity as there is anytime that Israel decides to do something about a terrorist group which threatens its civilians. Never mind that Fatah Al Islam's bank robbery comes nowhere close to comparing to the brutality that is inflicted on innocent Israelis, but none the less, Israel is looked upon as the bad guy in any conflict no matter what is done to them.

Dont get me wrong, im all for the LAF going out and taking action against terror groups that seek refuge in "palestinian" refugee camps, I just think its totally ridiculous Israel gets condemned for taking action like the LAF has taken, especially when Israeli civilians are under a much greater threat, and take much greater losses due to terrorist attacks than Lebanon has.

I'm back, back to the old blog to spout of my views once again. I had to back off for a while because of the amount of studying I was having to do in order to become an analyst, but that is over now, and things will now resume as usual... only with alot more intellect than was previously used

My views on alot of things have changed, however the core beliefs I have always had have stuck in my head like they always will for the rest of my life. I look foreword to confronting a new crowd of loony tunes much like I did almost a year ago on here. Like before ill pay most attention to matters overseas, and matters involving the military, but ill occasionally jump into domestic debates that are often occurring like taxes and government getting into waters that it has no right to be in.

First post back will go up sometime this afternoon, and after that its on.

Like alot of people I couldnt wait to see this movie, it looked amazing, and was about one of the most studied battles in in history. After I went and saw it on the first day it came out I had to see it the next day again :) Because the movie is just plain badass.

Thus far from what ive seen, only nerds and the president of Iran havent liked the movie, Ahmadinajad wont see it because it "degrades Persian culture", and nerds just wanna try to bitch about historic inaccuracies. The nerds wanna say that its a sham because Xerxes wasnt 9 feet tall, the Persians werent deformed like one of the creatures fighting with the immortals, the hot gates wasnt as small as Frank Miller depicted it, and that the 300 Spartans fighting in the pass was not very significant too the overall war with the Persians... Well heres my 2 cents on this.

Take a high school english class, and learn about symbolism. No shit Xerxes wasnt 9 feet tall, but throughout the entire movie the Persians are viewed as being an enormous force, and portraying Xerxes as being so much taller than King Leonidas only symbolizes the lengths to which the Spartans were outgunned if you will. It put more emphasis on the guts that the Spartans had to stand up to such a massive army. The "hot gates" in the movie is portrayed as a very narrow pass which it was, however in the movie its like 30 feet wide lol. True it wasnt in its actual size, but anyone with a lick of common sense can tell that.

True the battle at Thermopylae pass was not the most important battle of the Greco-Persian conflict, the most important would the the defeat of the Persian navy by the Athenians, and the Battle of Plataea in which 10,000
Spartans in command of 20,000 other greeks defeated the Perisan army decisively, and ended the defensive phase of the Greeks against the Persians, and began the offensive phase which would eventually lead all the way up to Alexander the Great's domination of the Persian empire.

Thermopylae was important because of all that it symbolized, and because of the time it bought to Greek city states. It also emboldened the Greek city states. It was an example for Greeks to follow, and it showed that the Persian immortals were far from immortal, that even a man like Xerxes who believed he was God could bleed, and looking back at it from modern times it is a large example of how superior training and strategy can overcome numerical superiority.

Who knows, maybe had it not been for a traitor being paid off by the Persians to give the location of a hidden path around to the back of the Startan line... Who knows, maybe they could have harmed that ego of Xerxes even more.

and finally... a few examples of what the United States Air Force does for the boots on the ground and How We Fight. Its a great video explaining how we fight, and the interdependent fight that involves each branch of the military at once to present amazing amounts of precision guided force at one time.and Finally..... just little close air support... warheads on foreheads is what we do people.hahaha that last one is a riot, yeah Zarqawi had a bad day, but what can ya do?I wont be able to post much on any politics anymore for reasons I cant say at the moment.

Gone To Basic Training For A While

Heres a video I found that should give you some kind of look into just how amazing the Israeli Air Force is at its job. Its a clip from a EA product, but the historical numbers are solid and unbending.

And heres a little more info about their history.

1948: Israel becomes an independent nation, and is all at once invaded by Egyptian, Syrian, Transjordanian, Lebanese, and eventually Iraqi forces. They invaded even though the lands that were the Israeli state at that time were lands in which Jews held the majority of the population, and Israel was not in Gaza or West Bank. Israel fought for its own life until a armed truce was signed agreed to be enforced by UN forces.
1956: Egypt's nutty leader Gamal Abdul Nasser nationalized the Suez Canal which futher alienated him from the British, Americans, and French, and raised fears that the arab nations were again planning to invade. Israel launched an air raid into Sinai which was reinforced by a anglo-french assault along the Suez Canal. A cease-fire was then signed that was promoted by the UN with the support of the United States and the Soviet Union. Through this conflict Israel had won Gaza and Sharm el Sheikh a place of strategic importance because it sits on the entrance to the Gulf of Aqaba. Israel pulled back and gave control of these areas away to the United Nations.
1967: The infamous 6 day war in which Israel's economic trade lines were blockaded by the Egyptian navy which forced Israel to defend itself with an amazing blow to Egypt, committing nearly all of the IAF to hitting Egypt's airfields in Sinai and elsewhere. In 100 minutes the IAF carried out 164 sorties and destroyed Egypt's ability to make war through the means of its non existant air force which lost 420 combat aircraft and a third of their pilots, while the IAF lost only 9. Jordan then attacked Israel and was followed by Syria who began shelling Israeli settlers while the Jordanians were shelling residential neighborhoods and hospitals in Jerusalem. Jordan was brought to its knees, Syria's military was beaten down and lost control te Golan Heights, Algeria sent in fighters to aid Egypt against Israel, and Jordan's air force was destroyed other than a few planes which made it to Iraq's H3 airfield that was later decimated. The war ended with Israel gaining the Sinai, Gaza, Golan Heights, and West Bank and the arab nations embarrassed.
1973: The Yom Kippur War which began with a massive invasion of Egyptian forces moving across the Suez Canal, and Syrian forces advancing on Israel from the other direction. At first the assault was successful until the Israelis awoke from their slumber and pushed the Egyptians back across the Suez Canal and several miles inland off of it and pushed the Syrians back further than where they started from. Israel then gave up its territorial gains to Syria, and its gains on the Suez to the UN and was deemed a UN cease-fire zone.
1982: Known to some as Peace for the Galilee was only launched after palestinian guerillas launched an air raid on Israel. Israel responded with sending in troops to destroy all PLO military bases (terror training camps) in Lebanon where the air raid came from, and to also attack the Syrian forces in the area supporting them. The IAF shot down 80+ Syrian Migs with 0 losses. The PLO was then forced to evacuate to several other arab countries that would have them, and to this day Syria and its hordes of its funded and trained Hezbullah terrorist now control the majority of Lebanon.

And now the arab brotherhood of nations other than Iran are just sitting back and watching Lebanon get pounded by Israel because of its inability to get terrorist groups and camps under control. This is what they get for allowing terror groups to use their nation as a staging ground for more attacks on Israel.

I apologize, I only had a chance to breeze this, as I am off to work shortly. From what I did get, I can say, I dont tottaly agree, but I will give you credit, because it is very well writen.

But your first paragraph. In there you say "barbaric Regimes". What makes them barbaric, and what gives you the right to decide who is and who is not barbaric? How can you know for sure that we are not the barbaric ones, that there way of life is not better? The word Barbaric should never be used in any political essay. Because the word barbaric, is nothing more than you rating your culture above another.

Are you kidding me??? Iran: Still has public hangings, flogging, and gives children the death penalty.

Iraq: Saddam killed millions of innocents for no reason other than paranoia, had torture chambers, and rape rooms.

Afghanistan: The Taliban stoned women for showing ankle, blew up Buddist statues, and killed men over no having a beard long enough.

Im sooo sorry I have called evil out for what it truely is, and you cannot handle that.
Im sooo sorry that you dont see those regimes as barbaric and brutal to their citizens.

Wow..your real smart *chokes*. Who classifs barbaric. To some countries, the way we execuct prisoners is barbaric. The way we burn fossil fuels is barbaric to countries like brazil. But yet, you would say we are more civilized than many of these nations, i assume. Barbaric is a CHILDISH word. And if you think i have to grow up....you need to find a tall building..and get to the top, and than the bottom really quickly.

Right so barbaric is a childish word, how many children have you ever met that knew the word... or better yet how many times have you heard Tony Blair say it... I guess your calling Tony Blair childish now, wow.

Oh yeah, because our cars run on gasoline, that makes us on par with Saddam Hussein filling mass graves, Irans religious persecution, and genocide in North Korea... wow, you have opened up a new way of thinking for all of us childish thinkers out here with things like facts and logic.

The Threats We Face And The Challenges To Come

We live in some of the most dangerous years to ever face mankind in all our existence. We are faced with countless numbers of rogue, ruthless, and barbaric regimes who seek to rule over not only their people, but the people of the free world with fear and tyranny. Our enemies cannot defeat us on the battlefield so they resort to tactics that we have not seen since the last days of World War 2 when the Japanese, as a last ditch act of desperation began sending waves of Kamikaze (Divine Wind) bombers on suicide missions against our forces in the Pacific Ocean. The enemy we now face was ignored for years and years until one Tuesday morning when they brought their ambitions to our shores, and we had a man in office who wasn't going to just take it anymore as we had throughout the 1990s.

Ronald Reagan once said "we're at war with the greatest enemy to ever face mankind in his long climb from the swamps to the stars, and its been said if we lose this war and in so doing lose this way of freedom of ours, history will record that those who had the most to lose did the least to prevent its happening". Had that same thing been said today it would still apply just as it did at the height of the Cold War, with threats coming at us from morally bankrupt nations like Iran, Syria, Venezuela, North Korea, and Cuba. Every one of these nations has many things in common other than their mutual hatred for America, their desires to rid the world of our great country, and their brutal lack of respect for human life. Each and every one of these nations is run by totalitarian dictatorships that kill anyone who disagrees with them, or just anyone that they are paranoid about just as Saddam Hussein, Stalin, Hitler, Mao Zedong, and Mullah Omar did while in power.

They preach the supremacy of the state, and for the most part they cooperate with one another in ways that many people are unaware of. Iran and Syria work together in support of Hamas, Hezbullah, Al Qaeda, and Islamic Jihad while Iran and North Korea swap information on missile deliver systems that could be used deliver the means of wiping entire civilizations off the map faster than truth from the history books taught in these nations is erased. Then there is the Cuba-Venezuela alliance which is the most obvious, these two nations work for a common goal to make central and South America a place of thriving anti-Americanism, while Iran sells Venezuela hundreds of AK-47s among other weapons, and Fidel Castro makes numerous trips to Iran to meet with the Ayatollahs to forge new relations between the two. An ally of the country whose President answers to "supreme religious leaders", calls for the destruction of the western world and Israel, and strives to attain a nuclear capability to act on those goals cannot be tolerated 95 miles off our shores, and is bad no matter whose looking at it.

This axis of evil men is far greater than the one that was talked about in the months after 9/11 by our President George W. Bush, but there is one other nation that is perhaps not an enormous threat at the moment, but it is gaining strength at a rapid pace. Just across the Strait of Taiwan sits the world's largest population, army, and fastest growing economy: China, yet another nation that oppresses its people by depriving them of the basic freedoms that we take forgranted—freedom of speech; religion; a free press; the ability to put forth an idea scoffed at by the experts and watch it prosper.

The Chinese have been growing their military with the aim to become the superpower in the Pacific Ocean by becoming a greater power than the United States. It is of great importance that we do not allow the Chinese military to overshadow our own in the region, programs like the F-22A, the JSF, Aegis Missile Defense, and plans for next generation bombers and cruise missiles must be kept around to keep us years ahead of the Chinese. One thing is clear, if the Chinese had no challenger in the region, that region would be one of terror, the people of Taiwan would be over taken, Japan would be bullied, and American cities on the west coast would be at great danger. We must stay ahead of the Chinese militarily, economically, and this requires us to invest in new technologies to keep us ahead of them. The astonishing capability of systems like the B-1, F-22A, Nimitz Class of carriers, and the Aegis Missile Cruiser are what keeps us from having to use them. Peace through strength.

The threats are clear, the road ahead is going to be a rocky one without a doubt, but it's nothing we can't handle as Americans. The solutions to these problems are much harder to figure out than the things we know for sure are not the answers. We cannot repeat the same mistakes we have repeated in the past, we must not appease, must not retreat, and cannot allow our enemies to gain anymore of the materials and know-how that could be deployed against American, European, Israeli, Korean, Japanese, and Middle Eastern cities. We can no longer wait to be hit by terrorists funded and trained by our enemies, because sitting back and waiting to be hit will only yield one result: More dead Americans, more blown up buses killing innocents, and a world where tyrants, dictators, and the most evil men on Earth have gained the upper hand as a result of our capitulation.

If I had to think of what I would like to teach others about my outlook on life it is simple. Keep your chin up, if its bad times your going through, have faith in the Lord to make things better, and the fact that things cant go on miserable forever. Life is never perfect, but that however does not mean that it is bad, things can always be better, but that doesnt make the times we go through bad. Things always get better, its just a matter of how far ahead your willing to look, the sun rises again over the horizon.
